About the product

Origanum belongs to the family Lamiaceae, a perennial herb native to the Mediterranean region and now found throughout Europe, the United States and Asia. Plant height can reach 60 cm and has fluffy and hard stems, and purple-red to white lip-shaped flowers in Summer. The whole plant can be used to extract essential oil.

People in Europe and the United States also call oregano "Oregon" and it is a common kitchen herb, used to enhance dishes and flavours. It is also said to be beneficial to the cleansing and balancing of the abdomen.

It is a close relative of marjoram but has completely different functions. Oregano essential oil is one of the most potent essential oils for cleansing and enhancing protection, thanks to the high carvacrol (about 80%) and thymol content. It is traditionally used to increase protection during the change of season or when extra boosts are needed. It can be blended with a base oil and rub on the chest for a refreshing and comfortable sensation.
