About the product
Matricaria, an annual plant of the Asteraceae family, is native to the United Kingdom and cultivated in Germany, France and Morocco. It has many characteristics in common with Roman chamomile. The plant is about 30 centimeters tall, the flower with white petals, and the leaves are slightly hairy. However, the difference is that the flowers of German blue chamomile grow upward and upright on the ground, with yellow tubular cones. It is sharper, more prominent, and exudes a slightly sweet smell of apple and spices. It has been used by Europeans as a digestive tea since ancient times, and has cooling, antipyretic, and relaxing effects.
The main ingredients of German chamomile are azure hydrocarbon and cumin and the beautiful flowers do not naturally contain azure hydrocarbon. Instead, a large amount of azure hydrocarbon (an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic substance) is produced during the distillation process, giving the essential oil a light sky blue color. The oil is often used for body and skin wellness thanks to its soothing and conditioning effect. It can be used to ease abdominal or skin discomfort caused by nervousness, eating too fast or anxiety.
