About the product
Poaceae, lemongrass, perennial evergreen herbaceous plant, originally native to India and now grows in other tropical areas, such as Brazil, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. The plant is about 91 cm tall with a strong lemon-like scent mixed with fresh grass aroma.
In Southeast Asia, it is a commonly used herb in food and beverages.
To obtain a strong and richly aromatic essential oil, the leaves is distilled in low-temperature. It's healing aroma makes it popular in Southeast Asia, and is often used in hotels or spas. In addition to its relaxing qualities, it is also valued for its antibacterial and insect repellent effects.
Herbs often have a protective function on the gastrointestinal tract, and lemongrass is no exception. After meals, it can be mixed with fennel essential oil and a base oil, and rub it on the abdomen to relieve flatulence and facilitate digestion.
It is also suitable for massage to support relieving lactic acid, help with circulation, and tighten the skin. It can also be added to water for feet baths - not only can it help deodourise, it also restores vitality to tired feet.
Diffusing lemongrass essential oils can freshen the air, prevent respiratory infections, improve fatigue, freshen the mind, and even help alleviate the support of jet lag.
Usage : body, insect repelling, foot bath, vaporiser and diffuser
How to use : Body : can be used directly on the spots of insect bites
Abdominal bloating : blend 1 drop of lemongrass essential oil with 1 drop of fennel, 1 drop of comp. rafraichissant and
2 drops of base oil, mix and rub on the abdomen. Those with sensitive skin can add extra base oil.
Massage on muscle aches with oil blends designed for relieving tightness, or add 1 to 2 drops to lotion and use all over
the body.
Foot bath : add 1-2 drops to a tub of water for foot baths
Diffuser or vapouriser : can be used on its own, or blended with other oils for synergistic effects
Blends well with : fennel, coriander, comp. rafraichissant, lemon, comp.boul. copahierl, yellow birch, rosemary,
tea tree, cypress, melaleuca essential oil for synergistic effects
Precautionary advice : a strong and potent essential oil, if using directly then limit to small parts of the skin.
For use on larger areas of the body, dilute with base oil first.
