Lavender is a small perennial evergreen shrub of the genus Lavender, Lamiaceae. The flowers are spike-shaped and emits a strong aroma. The lavender, also known as broad-leaf lavender, originated from the Mediterranean coastal area with the French variety
being the most popular and optimal.
The purple and blue flowered lavender bloom from April to August every year. Harvesters pick and distill the flowers at sunrise just before full bloom to extract essential oils that is rich and fragrant.
Lavender are renowned for their bactericidal and insect repellent properties since the Middle Ages. Traditionally dried lavender were used to make sachets and placed in cupboards to repel insects, while the Romans often used the plant to clean wounds and in baths thanks to its stress-relieving effect. Perhaps lavenders' most prized feature is it's charming, stress-relieving aroma and benefits to the
skin. Nowadays, it is also one of the most common essential oil used in Aromatherapy.
Usage : body, bath, sleep, insect deterrent, vapouriser, diffuser
How to use : Body : - apply to chest/ breast, back or other areas as needed
- add a few drops to body lotion or carrier oil and apply to or massage the body
Bath : add a few drops to warm water for shower or bathing
Sleep / insect deterren t : add a few drops to cotton balls and place next to pillow to help with relaxation and sleep,
and / or place in cupboard to deter insects and lightly fragrances
Blends well with : Roman chamomile, rose, sandalwood, fennel, clary sage for synergistic effects.
Precautionary advice : During pregnancy do not use excessive amounts nor apply to the abdomen area.
