Base oil, also known as carrier oil, are oils extracted from fruits, nuts, seeds, and germs of plants, cold-pressed at a low temperature below 60°C. It is rich in nutrients such as vitamins, protein and minerals and can be used to moisturise the skin and hair. Some essential oils are highly potent and concentrated, such as % rose, % jasmine, % orange blossom, % sandalwood, and more), or those containing phenolic ingredients like oregano, thyme, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, etc.); or those containing limonene (eg. carrot, fennel, lemon, etc.); or those containing ketones (eg. wormwood, camphor, etc). Due to their chemical composition, these essential oils are particularly strong and must be diluted with base oils before use, especially when applied to large surface areas.
Base oil is used to dilute, buffer, and assist the penetration and absorption of pure essential oils. Each base oil has its own different characteristics and benefits. When choosing an oil, one that is stable and of a small moleculular size will be more easily absorbed and provide nutrients to the skin with better moisturising effects. This will further enhance the benefits of essential oils.
Carrier oils are usually odorless and should not affect the aroma of pure essential oils. When selecting a base/ carrier oil, consider where it will be used, your skin condition and and any other properties desired.
For example; will the oil be used on small areas of the body, or large surface area such as for massage or hair care. Also shelf stability - can the oil can be used within a short or longer period of time, are all factors for consideration.
How to store and use base oils:
Like essential oils, base oils cannot withstand high temperatures or direct sunlight. Store in a cool, dry and shaded area. Under normal conditions, base oils can last for 24 months after opening. However, to minimise cross-contamination and oxidation, it is recommended to separate into smaller bottles for use. The blended essential oil and base oil should also be used as soon as possible.

About the product :
A native plant of Mexico that is now cultivated all over the world. The desert terrain in the United States and Mexico junction is renowned for its environment being well suited
to Jojoba's growth, and the quality is regarded as one of
the finest.
Simonaceae is a shrub plant with a tree height of about
170 ~ 200 cm. It miraculously only needs 20ml of rainfall
per year to survive and grows slowly, and takes about 5 to
6 years of growth before bearing fruit. Jojoba naturally produces an anti-oxidising, heat stable liquid wax to help
it's seeds adapt to changing climates. Nicknamed "liquid wax tree', jojoba oil has high stability, easily absorbed by
the skin, penetrates well, supports sun care, and has good moisturising effect.
It is an ideal basic oil for face, body and hair care.

magnesium, zinc, copper, vitamins B5, B6, C, E
About the product:
Evening primrose is a herbaceous plant of the Onyx family. Native to the sunny and dry sandy terrains of eastern North America and is now grown in countries such as Europe and East Asia.
A popular plant in many homes, it is named Evening Primrose because it blooms as the moon rises in the evening and withers after dawn.
Evening primrose oil can be obtained by cold-pressing the seeds, which contains r-linolenic acid (GLA), an important element in maintaining the health of cell membranes, allowing the skin to retain more moisture, repair and protects sensitive skin from dryness and itching. It also contains linoleic acid (rich in unsaturated fatty acids), vitamins, and minerals and is an ideal oil for women's wellness.
Note: Due to it's high unsaturated fatty acids content, it is easily oxidised therefore the orifice of bottle should be wiped clean with alcohol after each use. Alternatively, separate into smaller air-tight bottles to minimise oxidisation during use.

About the product :
Rosehip oil is cold-pressed and extracted from the fruit of a species of rosehip native to South America (not to be confused with roses, the oil does not have a rose aroma).
It belongs to the Rosaceae family, can reach a height of 2 meters, and bears bright red fruits. It is grown from February to April every year, and the high-quality oil is obtained from hand-picked fruits, sun dried, and then cold-pressed. Rosehip oil contains a variety of vitamins and minerals and provides nutrients that supports bright, radiant skin. It also contains precious r – Linolenic acid and B-carotene, which can soothe irritated skin, improve skin moisture level, help support skin repair and reduce skin itching. It is the recommended base oil for creating face and body anti-aging blends.

Composition : opc anthocyanins, Omega fatty acids,
vitamins C, E, amino acids
About the product :
A deciduous woody vine of the Vitaceae family and genus Vitis, native to the Mediterranean region, Central Europe and Southwestern Asia, and is now grown on all continents of the world (except Antarctica).
As one of the main wine consumers in the world, and an important agricultural product, European countries uses large amounts of grapes during wine production. The seeds left behind during the fermentation process of grapes is then cold pressed to extract grape seed oil.
Grape seed oil is naturally light yellow-green in colour, and is rich in OPC anthocyanins, a powerful antioxidant that may support skin's anti-aging. It also has a variety of vitamins and amino acids, nourishing the skin and increasing suppleness.
Grapeseed oil are quickly absorbed through the skin thanks to its small molecular size. It is light, non-sticky and is suitable for all skin types, particularly those with oily skin.
Because of its light texture, it can be used to dilute essential oils - and is favoured for massage use.
Notes :
1. As the oil is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and is easily
oxidised, we suggest separating into smaller bottles before use.
2. The opening of the bottles should be cleaned after each use, with
the cap secured to limit air exposure. This can reduce the oily smell
that sometimes develops after oil oxidation.
3. Diluted essential oils and/ or blends should be used as soon as
possible.
Extracted from : wheat germ (cold press) Volume : 30ml/100ml
Harvest region : France
Composition : vitamin E, B, Linoleic acid, protein, minerals
About the product :
Triticum, an annual herbaceous plant of the Gramineae family, first originated in the Fertile Crescent region of the Middle East and later spread to Europe and Central Asia.
Wheat germ provides nutrients to the wheat endosperm and the whole wheat grain, and stores 97% of the wheats nutrients. It is a by product of the flour production process, and is separated from wheat grains. About 10 tonnes of wheat germ is needed to extract about 5kg of wheat germ oil.
The vitamin E content of wheat germ oil is the highest among vegetable oils, and is a natural antioxidant with high stability benefits. Essential oil blends made with wheat germ oil can last a long time thanks to its resistance to oxidisation, preventing the development of oily smell. It can be blended with other plant oils to prolong their shelf stability and use.
Wheat germ oil is rich in nutrients and can moisturise the skin, providing lustre and anti-aging benefits. As the oil is relatively viscous, it is recommended to combine it with other lighter base oils (eg. jojoba, grape seed oil) for better results.
